Interior
The living room, dining room, and foyer have natural wood floors and ceilings, giving it a lodge-like feel that is continued in the stairway and hallway of the second floor.
Downstairs, there are two fireplaces and a dining room table that seats 8-10; a butler's pantry and half bath; a kitchen with a sink original to the 1881 house, but with brand new appliances and a counter with bar stools; a large family room, which is part of a later addition, with a picture window overlooking the garden and pool beyond.
A wall sized cabinet stores the new HDTV and sound system, videos and DVDs, records and CDs, games, etc.
There is a small hall leading off the family room that goes into a bedroom with a private bath, where a shower assembly is installed in a claw foot tub.
The stairs to the second floor are between the foyer and the butler's pantry. The washer/dryer is concealed behind part of the hallway that leads from the stairs to the bedrooms. If you go to the left, there are two bedrooms along the hall and a larger bedroom at the far end. The two bedrooms facing south share an outdoor deck. All bedrooms are air conditioned and have at least two sources of cross ventilation. There is also a attic fan which cools the entire house at night.
